good weekend

We had a really nice weekend. Didn't do a whole lot which makes it nice. Fred went and got my favorite breakfast Saturday morning - Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I just love the regular glazed ones. It's definitely my morning drug of choice. Well, that and coffee. I worked on a couple of scrapbook pages. Finished one, still working on another. This is me in my room getting another fix; my computer.

I did find these cool pens at Office Depot last week. They're just ball point pens, but they're very girly. Each pen is the color of the grip. I admit, they were an impulse buy while standing in line, but they're so cute!

We did have a little protest at our house on Sunday. I finally set up Ethan's sand and water table yesterday. I went to Home Depot and purchased a 50 lb. bag of sand. Gosh, that thing was heavy. I was struggling in the parking lot trying to lift it out of the cart and into my car and nobody stopped to help me. Maybe chivalry is dead. Anyway. I finally got in the car and went home to put the table together. Ethan absolutely loved it! We stayed outside for a bit while he played with it. Then Mimi (my mother-in-law) came over and stayed outside with him a long time. When they finally came back in, Ethan was very upset. This is where the protest comes in. He hung around the back door and wouldn't give anyone a hug or kiss or even say anything. He ended up like this:

I couldn't help but laugh and grab my camera!

happy easter!

Someone sent this to me in an email and I just had to share. I thought it was funny.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter. We went to the usual place-Fred's aunt and uncle's house. They always have a big Easter egg hunt for the kiddos. I think Ethan is starting to get the hang of it, because he ended up with more eggs in his basket this year. It was nice and sunny today, but the temperature was 90 degrees. 90 degrees in April. A little miserable to say the least. Ethan got upset when we had to go back inside because Mommy was starting to sweat.

fred's birthday

Well, Fred's big 40th birthday was a couple of weeks ago. His secretary and I worked together to surprise him when he got to the office. That would be the one week he works late every night. I don't think he got home before midnight one night that week. Well, we planned to meet the night before his birthday and decorate his office. That plan was no longer an option because of the late nights, so we met at 6:30am the morning of his birthday. I brought some muffin and fruit trays and she brought all the decorations. I did also bring the cake. It was so cool! I took 2 old photos of him and had them put on the cake. It turned out so good!

I quickly returned home because he had to be back at the office at 8:00am. Needless to say, he was very surprised. Later that afternoon when they cut the cake, Ethan and I went up to his office. Ethan enjoyed talking on Daddy's phone.

I had also planned at surprise cocktail party the next evening. I invited some of the people he works with, friends and some clients. He was shocked that I had thrown all this together. It was a lot of fun! I wanted to do something special because you only turn 40 once!
