Texas - National Champs Once Again!

Fred and I just got back from the Rose Bowl yesterday. What a game! I'm still just amazed at Vince Young's talent. We had such a great time! We got to the stadium about 2 hours before game time and took a bunch of pictures. I got a few of Matthew McConaughey standing on the sideline. The stadium quickly filled up with burnt orange - on our side at least. The opening of the game was pretty cool. Some Air Force Academy cadets jumped from an airplane and landed on the field carrying the teams' flags and the game ball. LeAnn Rimes sang the National Anthem and afterwards, a B1 Bomber flew overhead. It was really loud, but really cool! I missed the photo opportunity because you didn't know it was there until it was right over the stadium.

The game itself was just unbelievable! It was a little worrisome when USC was up 38 to 26 with less than 7 minutes left in the game. But the Longhorns rallied and Vince ran it in for a touchdown. The crowd was just ecstatic! Now 38 to 33 and USC with the ball back, the Horns made a big play holding them at 4th and 2 and turning the ball back over to Texas. Once again, the team pulled together and Mr. In-Vince-able ran the ball into the end zone and then again for the two point conversion. The scoreboard read 41 to 38 with 19 seconds left to play, but USC couldn't make anything happen. The Texas side of the stadium just errupted! We were jumping up and down and hugging everyone around us. This was without a doubt the best football game ever! Congratulations Texas!
