birthday cupcake

I've had these stamps and this "Two Scoops" paper for what seems like forever. I sit down at my desk everyday and I see them sitting there, but yet I choose not to use them. Finally, today was the day. Ethan is going to a birthday party on Saturday for a little girl in his class. I thought the cupcake stamps would be perfect for a little girl's card. I incorporated this week's Splitcoast sketch.

Well, Blogger is getting ready for an outage, so I better go. Thanks for looking!

fab birthday

This is the card I made my brother-in-law for his birthday. I don't know about you, but I have a hard time making masculine cards. I finally settled on this Crate Paper. I think it looks fairly masculine. Don't you? I used Beate's weekend sketch. Very simple sketch. I could have dressed it up a little, but again, masculine was the key. He probably wouldn't care for all the glitter and what not I could have added anyway.

I went to Michael's last week and they had all their craft foam tubs with all the different shapes on sale for $4. Ethan really likes playing with them. I got a letters, numbers and animals tub for him. He really likes to spell words. I just give a piece of construction paper and he does the rest! The foamies already have adhesive on the back so that makes it really easy.

It keeps him busy at his little table in my room while I'm busy at mine! Thanks for looking!

quick post

This is the card I made for this week's Splitcoast sketch. I don't particularly like sympathy cards, but I needed it for someone at Fred's office. I've got a million things to do, so gotta go! Thanks for looking!

weekend sketch

Here's my sample for Beate's weekend sketch. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to use these Quickutz dies I bought about 3 years ago and never used. I hope you like!

Well, I finally sat down this weekend and scrapped a page for Reagan's album.

I have been sitting on this Making Memories Noteworthy paper for a while. I just loved it when I saw it and thought it was perfect for a girly page. The clock transparency is from Heidi Swapp and I originally bought it to put on the face of the clock I altered, but I didn't like the way it looked. I'm glad I finally found a use for it! Thanks for looking!

late sketch

I made this card a couple of days ago for the weekly sketch on Splitcoast, but just now got around to taking a pic and posting. I have been trying to unclutter my craft room. I made a trip out to IKEA yesterday and bought this new table to go in the little nook behind my desk.

It fits perfectly! And check these out:

Drawers that attach to the leg and swivel underneath the table! These things are the hippest! I bought a couple more to fit under my desk. The only thing is I have to unscrew the legs of the desk to get them on. Which means I've got to take everything off my desk to do it! Ugh!

I don't know if you saw Michelle Wooderson's nifty idea on creating an inspiration station ,but I thought this table would be perfect!

As you can see, I've already added a few things such as ribbon, paper and stamps. (Yes, that is 4 unopened Papertrey Ink stamp sets. I told you I was trying to unclutter...haven't had time to open them. Soon, I promise.) And I was able to snag 6 of those cute little mailboxes from Target. Can't wait to alter these!

love this little guy

I decided to use this birdie stamp again for Beate's weekend sketch. I just love him! And I love this new backgrounder stamp I got from Cornish Heritage Farms. Houndstooth is just so versatile!

On another note...please check out my new kitchen wall calendar and chalk board.

I have been searching for a nice board to fit in this space on the side of this cabinet. Pottery Barn came out with these and it's perfect! What's really cool is that the erasers that came with each board are magnetic on one side so they attach to the boards. They also hold the pen and chalk. How handy is that? Here's the view from the side:

It's nice and out of the way so it doesn't draw a lot of attention when you first look at the kitchen. Oh and please don't look at my ugly hardware on the cabinets. This brass stuff was everywhere in this house when we bought it last year. We are gradually changing everything out for brushed nickel. We just had all the doorknobs changed out last month. Slowly but surely I'll get this house exactly how I want it! Thanks for stopping by!

love birdie

I just love this stamp set! This bird in particular. Amy of Heartfelt Greetings is such an enabler! I just loved all her creations with this set. I couldn't find anybody on the web who was selling it and my LSS didn't have it either. I finally turned to ebay. Of course, it was there. Really and truly, if you can't find something...ebay.

I used some Basic Grey from last year. The name escapes me, but it's the one from Valentine's. I stamped the little heart from the Papertrey borders and corners set, then traced over it with the glue pen and added glitter.

I added a little glitter to the bird too. It just needed a little sparkle! I stamped "LOVE" from the Heidi Grace set I won from Julee at Poetic Artistry for a Mojo Monday contest. I of course added some sparkle to it as well! Hope everyone's having a great weekend! Time to go watch the Cowboys whoop up on the Giants!

baby

I made this card for a friend of mine who recently told me she was pregnant. I'm so excited for her! When I came across Sharon's blog last week, she made these great baby cards and I just totally copied her idea for my card.

I stamped the image with Versamark and colored the buggy with chalk. Then I covered the whole thing with Sugar Dust. It's just so simple and clean looking. I hope she likes it!

mojo 19

Well, I think my mojo's back...sort of. I finally made a card after a long break, but I don't think I like it very much. I had an idea in my head and it didn't turn out the way I had envisioned it. Does that ever happen to you? Happens to me all the time! Anyway. This is, of course, for Julee's weekly sketch. I used these Papertrey stamps for the first time.

I really like the "love" heart stamp. I cut it out and covered it with Sugar Dust. I'm sure I've mentioned this stuff before. It's basically micro beads, but think smaller. A lot smaller! I absolutely love it! Speaking of love... I'm totally enamored with the sneak peeks Verve has going on right now. I can't wait to get my hands on the stars and hearts sets that are coming out! Be sure to check out their debut and 3 others on Thursday! Thanks for stopping by!

happy new year!

I've been on a holiday hiatus. Now I'm back! I probably won't have any cards to post today, but hopefully tomorrow. I haven't sat down to make anything since the week before Christmas. Can you believe it? I think my hands are starting to shake from withdrawal!

My husband and I starting taking down the Christmas decorations yesterday. So sad. We took the tree down and I just love the mess it makes as you drag it through the front door. Those needles were all over the floor!

I posted a new banner this morning too. I just love this picture of Reagan! It was the first picture I took Christmas morning. I just thought it was so cute! I added some detail to it with the Adobe brushes for upcoming Valentine's Day! Well, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a great New Year! See you soon!
