mojo 174

I finally got all the Christmas stuff put away so I can now get back into my room. I decided to jump into Julee's Mojo Monday challenge. I had to get busy making some Valentine's cards, so I chose Verve's Heart to Heart stamps for my card. It's an oldie but a goodie. I stamped the hearts and cut them out. I mounted the smaller heart in the middle with some foam tape for dimension. I also matted it with some pink cardstock to make it pop. For the patterned paper, I used Basic Grey's Sugared paper pad. I don't think I had used it before now. Typical. I tied a piece of matching ribbon around and done.
Thanks for stopping by!

mojo 159

Nothing like waiting until the last minute to complete a sketch. When I saw Jen Del Muro's card at my local scrapbook store, I had to have this stamp set by The Cat's Pajamas. Her card totally inspired mine for this week's Mojo Monday challenge.

I stamped Dracula on some white cardstock and colored him with Copics. I mounted that on a piece of kraft cardstock that I had stamped using the VersaMark pad. I mounted everything on a piece of patterned paper I got out of my Halloween pile and I'm digging the end result.

This card I did I couple of week's ago for Mojo Monday 157. I'm not sure why I never uploaded it. I bought this cute little stamp set by My Mind's Eye at one of the local scrapbook stores. Isn't that little witch adorable? I absolutely love Halloween!

Thanks for stopping by!

mojo 153

Well, with the kids finally back in school, I may be able to get some cards done. This week's Mojo Monday sketch was challenging for me. I wasn't totally psyched about it, but I managed to churn something out. I bought these Spellbinders Shapeabilities pendants and they've just been sitting on my desk. I was looking at them and realized that one of them was the perfect size for the squares in the sketch. I knew I wanted to do a Halloween card, but finding the right stamps was the challenging part. I needed small stamps to layer on top and these were the only ones I could find. I may have to go shopping!

I basically just stamped the images on white cardstock and colored them with my Copics and cut those suckers out. I used one of the small Nestabilities circles under the images and foam tape for a little lift. Mounted everything on this green patterned paper and done!

Thanks for stopping by!

mojo 148

Do you have an image in your head of how you want your card to turn out, but 9 times out of 10 it doesn't look anything like you had imagined? Or is it just me? Well, this is number 10 of 10. It actually looks like I had imagined. When I saw this week's Mojo Monday sketch, I knew exactly what stamps, paper and dies I wanted to use. I don't know about you, but that like never happens to me.

The main image is from the Up, Up and Away set from Verve and I colored it with Copics. All the patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Oliver paper pad. For the clouds and the eyelet border, I used Papertrey Ink's dies. I thought they were a perfect fit for the card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Father's Day:

Paper: Basic Grey, Bazzill, Papertrey Ink
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)

mojo 147

I can't remember the last time I did one of Julee's Mojo Monday sketches. I thought I would pull out some older Verve stamps too. For the patterned paper, I used a combination of October Afternoon's Fly a Kite and SEI's Happy Day that my mom got me for my birthday. I stamped the stars and colored them with my Copics. I oh so carefully cut them out and mounted them with foam tape on the white squares. I tried to match the colors of the Copics with the paper the best I could. (Note to self...need to buy more Copics!)

Sorry for the bad lighting. It's almost dark here and I couldn't take it in my usual spot.
Just a quick post because I'm almost at the deadline for entering this bad boy! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday:

i'm still here

Nothing like a great Papertrey Ink set to get me out of retirement. When I saw the Up, Up & Away set, I knew I had to have it! Another reason it's so great is that now they have custom dies that coordinate with them. How cool is that?

This is obviously a birthday card. I used patterned paper from October Afternoon's Fly a Kite pad and aforementioned stamp set from Papertrey Ink. I colored the balloon with my Copics and sprinkled a little glitter on it and around the edge of the clouds. Mounted everything together and voila! I also used this week's Splitcoast sketch. I wasn't too crazy about it, but I think it works.

I don't know about you guys, but summer has been crazy. With the kids at home, I've become the entertainment director or else they become a little stir crazy. We've been doing a lot of swimming, going to the movies and I'm trying to get them to do some arts and crafts stuff too. My daughter loves doing it, but my son...not so much. Anyway. Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Wishes:

Paper: October Afternoon, Papertrey Ink

carolers sketch

Another great sketch this week over at Splitcoast. This card actually came together as I saw it in my head. I love when that happens! The only thing I had to do different was turn it sideways. It just didn't look right horizontally.

I love this little carolers stamp. I got the set on eBay for like $5. I was the only one to bid on it. Lucky me! I stamped the image and, of course, colored it with my Copics. All the patterned paper is from one of last year's Christmas lines from My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is from the same set and I just stamped it and cut that and the image out with my Nesties. I embossed the 3 squares of cardstock with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder and mounted those on top of the patterned paper. I decided to add a little sparkle with the snowflakes. The punch is a Martha Stewart punch I picked up last year and I just ran some glue over them and sprinkled on the glitter!
Thanks for stopping by!

birthday mojo

Finally, a moment to sit down and update my blog. I made this card on Friday, but I've been so busy this weekend with other things that I haven't had a chance to get online. I know...tragic.

This week's Mojo Monday sketch was a doozy. I was inspired by Tosh's snowman card. I just loved it when I saw it! I really like how she did the glittery pendant behind the image. That's what I was trying to emulate here. Instead of the Spellbinder's Fleur de lis, I used one of the Cuttlebug flower die sets and cut it apart.

The main image is from a Basic Grey set called Sahara. I think my mom gave them to me for my birthday this year. Thanks, Mom! The paper is called Marrakech also from Basic Grey. I tried my best to match what Copics I had to the paper. I don't have one of those fancy schmancy Copic airbrush thingies, so I masked the image and sponged on the Distress Ink. (I really think I need one of those!)

Thanks for looking!

ornaments sketch

I finally got to finish this week's Splitcoast sketch challenge today. I've been trying to get my house clean for relatives invading on Monday. They're only staying 2 nights so it's not too bad.

I loved this week's sketch! I got to use my new Nesties too! I stamped the image and colored with my Copics. Added just a little sparkle on one of the ornaments. I pretty much used all BG's Figgy Pudding on this one. I was thinking I better buy some more of that before they discontinue it if they haven't already.

I was unsure about the piece of blue cardstock behind the image, but there's only so much time I can spend on a card. I just pierced the paper around the edge and was done with it. I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by!

halloween weekend sketch

I loved Beate's sketch this weekend. It was just simple and straight forward. I did however change it up a little. I love the way square cards look, but it's so hard to find envelopes for them. I turned the squares and circles into rectangles out popped this A2 sized card.

This stamp was part of a set I found on sale at Michael's over the weekend. I just thought these little guys were really cute! I colored the image with my Copics and added some sparkle with glitter. I cut it out with my rectangular Nesties using Julie's clever little trick for resizing. The fence is one of those Martha Stewart border punches I also found on sale at Michael's. I just ran my Quickie Glue Pen over it and sprinkled on some black glitter for a little added interest.

Well, that's all I have today! Thanks for stopping by!
